Hotshot D.C. Attorney Terissa Ivers has two huge problems. First, her new client has uncovered information that may implicate the hot single 37-year old war hero President Harrison Pierce in the tragic assassination of the previous President and First Lady. Second, Terissa can’t stop herself from giving in to submissive encounters with a mysterious dirty-talking dominant man whose face she has never seen…a man with a dark secret and a very high position in the U.S. Government.

When her client ends up dead, Terissa finds herself embroiled in a conspiracy that stretches to the highest levels of Washington. Trusts are broken, shots are fired, and identities are revealed as her life spirals out of control.

Terissa finds herself in a race against time to figure out the high-ranking official who works for the shadow group Solvane, locate a nuclear weapon stashed in an American city, and free twenty-one captured American soldiers before they are killed...all while convincing the American media that the dominant man who takes her to new heights of passionate rapture is innocent. A 4-book series. Mature content. 18+ only.

Book One Review

Book one in the Capitol Submission series start off with fireworks. With a bing bang boom, this book heats up from the very first line.

Terissa and her friend are at a club, only for Terissa to find out exactly what kind of club it is. She has a anonymous, but hot, encounter with a man she meets there before he disappears leaving her with nothing but a burner phone. No, he is not a male version of Cinderella. He is in fact someone important in the government and he is keeping his identity secret for now.

After this encounter, Terissa is tasked with one of the biggest jobs of her career only to become embroiled in a scandal that could rock the entire government if not handled properly. The suspense and intrigue of this book left me wanting more. Not just of the steamy encounters between Terissa and her masked man, but more of the suspense. I really enjoyed the way Skylar Cross keeps readers on her toes with mysteries and secrets.

Book Two Review
Filled with suspense, intrigue, and lots of action, Capitol Submission is unlike any erotic book I have read in the past. I honestly cannot even begin to tell you how amazing this series is turning out to be without giving spoilers.
Skyler Cross has created the perfect blend of erotic romance and action and brought readers Capitol Submission, a book that will have you at the edge of your seat. I have never read an erotic romance quite like this one. While most center on the heat and the sex (duh!), Capitol Submission has an intriguing plot. By the way, it also has a ton of heat and sexy times galore in case you were wondering ;)
Speaking of the sex scenes, they have definitely been amped up in this book and Cross has given us more, more, more from Terissa and her masked mystery man.
Although once again short, this book has everything a reader could want and more!

Book Three Review
In book three things are moving in the fast lane. Fast paced and full of more suspense than ever, Capitol Submission takes readers on a wild thrill ride with action, conspiracy theories, DC big shots, including the President, and steaminess galore once more.
How had I gone this long without reading anything by this author? Let me tell you, Skylar Cross brings the adventure to life within the pages of the Submission Capitol books. Just when you think things cannot get any better or heat up anymore - THEY DO!
And the ending for this book?! OH MY! I have to continue on to book four IMMEDIATELY.
(Yes, I am using screaming capitals...That's because I am so EXCITED about this series.)

Book Four Review
I have to say I am sorry to see this series end. Skylar Cross is an amazing author and it shows within this series. These books kept me on an emotional roller coaster with the relationships and on the edge of my seat with the suspense and conspiracy theories.
Capitol Submissions is literally the Scandal of the book world. This should be a movie...a tv show...anything that will give me more of the intrigue, action, and passion I felt within these pages.
While a short series, Skylar Cross has delivered the perfect read for everyone. Whether you like thrillers, adventure, suspense, or romance, this book has something for you!
The characters are absolutely amazing and so real it's like watching them come alive among the pages. The plot is thrilling and hooked me from the beginning. This series is so addicting. Once you start the first book, you cannot stop until the last.
I highly recommend this to everyone looking for their next great read!

Author Bio

I love dark, mysterious, and deviant. Powerful dominant alpha males with troubled pasts who find strong but unfulfilled submissive women. Both need to escape the "rules" of society (just like me... haha.) Together they make hot steamy delight and fill in each other's damaged parts. This is me. This is what I write. Hope you like it.

Interview

1. When did you first start writing?

As far back as I can remember. In grammar school, I was always writing stories. I analyzed TV shows and wrote sequels to episodes.

2. What inspired you to write?

For years, I stayed away from writing because somehow I ended up believing that nobody could make any money from it unless your name is Stephen King or James Patterson with movie deals.

Two things happened. First, I fell in love with a woman who I couldn’t be with. A friend suggested I write a story about her to get her out of my system. So I did.

At the same time, I found out that authors make money self-publishing on Kindle. So I put the story up, and got three sales of it the very first day. Then I focused on getting better, learned how to market books, and BOOM!...I had a new career.

As for the woman who inspired me, she has shown up as different characters in several of my series...until now. I think I’ve finally written her out of my system...lol. And no, as far as I know, she has no idea she was my inspiration.

3. Who are some of your biggest influences?

I grew up reading Robert B. Parker (the Spenser detective novels) and John D. MacDonald (the Travis McGee detective novels.) Their writing style influenced me heavily. The first chapter of THE STARK AFFAIR is very Parker-esque.

My favorite in recent years is the gone-too-young Vince Flynn, author of the Mitch Rapp CIA series.

But when I came to the erotic romance world, the one book that BLEW ME AWAY was STRINGS by Kendall Grey. The character Letty Dillinger’s potty-mouthed stream-of-consciousness “I-love-sex” style tainted me (in a good way) forever, I think.

4. Is there a special place you go and a certain mind frame you like to be in before you write?

I like to take my laptop outside and write. As for frame of mind, I leave that up to coffee. And then some coffee. And then some more coffee. And then...lol.

5. What's the most exciting thing that happened to you during your writing career?

The day I opened up KDP, looked at the numbers, shouted “Holy shit!” out loud, and realized I could quit my customer service job.

But even better than that, I love the fact that I can move people with nothing but my fingertips on a keyboard. One reviewer wrote that I made her cry. Now, I don’t like going around making people cry, but realizing that what I wrote touched her so deeply was a profound moment.

6. How do you come up with all the characters and different exciting plots?

Beats the hell out of me. Oh, wait, I know...drugs! No, just kidding. What’s funny is that it’s different every time. THE CAGE SESSIONS and FIFTY DAYS were both seat-of-my-pants. I started both off with a situation and then just followed the characters around waiting for stuff to happen...and a lot did.

I'm still not sure how a story about a girl stuck in traffic with a sex toy on her car seat turned into an epic about a tortured rock star, a controlling mother, a take-charge transsexual, and a heroin-addicted porn star. Nor how I finished it. (That was THE CAGE SESSIONS.)

For THE STARK AFFAIR and CAPITOL SUBMISSION, I planned everything out in advance...even though as I wrote a lot changed.

The idea for CAPITOL SUBMISSION came out of my obsession with the TV show SCANDAL. It’s way overdone, but Shonda Rhimes is a master plotter.

As for characters, some come from my warped mind, others inspired by people I know. Who? I’ll never tell wink emoticon

7. What authors have inspired you through your writing and how did they inspire you?

Like I said, Kendall Grey in STRINGS. Also Sky Corgan, who inspired me to learn about the marketing side of things in a very detailed and precise manner. If it wasn’t for Sky’s advice, I would never have had that “Holy shit!” day I described above. Roxy Sloane’s dirty-talking alpha males also inspired me to make my men more over-the-top masculine.

8. Do you have advice for any writer who's struggling right now?

Pay attention to the authors who are making money. Research the market. Be careful that you’re not writing stuff that YOU love but that doesn’t have a large enough following to make you any money.

Learn everyday. Stay on top of what’s happening in the industry. The whole game changes constantly. Like last year when Kindle Unlimited came out...fortunes were made while others quit the business. You have to adapt to the changes, go with the flow.

9. What's the silliest thing that you have ever experienced in your writing career?

Authors who compete. The way I look at life is win-win. I help other authors whenever I can. We’re all in this together. There is no need to one-up each other. There’s enough money to go around for all of us, even more if we work together and help each other out.

10. Could you share something extra that you would like your viewers to know about you are your writing?

I love my characters. Sometimes too much. When I was in the middle of THE CAGE SESSIONS, I got quite emotional because I was living their lives morning, noon, and night. Since then, I’ve learned to detach a bit more to keep my sanity.
