Cam Hardy is former special ops and now a private investigator for Maltese Security. A former troubled youth, Cam has confidence on the surface but underneath finds himself unworthy even if all he wants is to be worthy of Drea Sanford.
Drea Sanford is unlike any woman Cam has ever known. Drea, a make-up artist, has her own past to deal with and it doesn't allow for her to get close to many people, especially a smooth talking Romeo known for breaking hearts all over the city.
When a wealthy socialite client of Drea's dies, Drea is accused of murder. Between a crime boss trying to pin the crime on Drea and the cops themselves after her, Drea has no choice but to run and the only person who can save her is Cam: the man she has been sleeping with on the down low.
While on the run from Diamond Tommy and the cops, Cam and Drea experience different sides to one another but can Cam save Drea from the situation they are in? And even if he does will the feelings that begin to arise between the two sizzle out once all the adventure is gone?
Make Me Up is full of adventure, mystery, and romance. From early on in the book we know that Drea is not the killer and who exactly the mastermind is so the rest of the book is about getting the answers behind the murder.
As a romance we get to witness the growth of Drea and Cam's relationship from friends with benefits to more and the changes in each other as they grow closer and discover that there is more to one another. As for the pairing itself I thought that Cam and Drea made a good match and I truly liked this couple. Cam's feelings for Drea were plain to see from the beginning and the chemistry between the two was explosive. This match brought out the best in one another and has readers rooting for them.
Avery Flynn leaves readers on the edge of their seats with police chases, crime bosses, and a 'will they?' or 'won't they?' relationship. If you love adventure, suspense, danger, and romance this book is for YOU!
