As a lover of SEAL books, Sharon Hamilton is one of my favorite military authors. Action packed and full of suspense, Seal's Code definitely delivers and proves why she's one of my favorites.
Meet Danny Begay, a Navajo Native American, whose life has no direction. When he is called home for the passing of his grandfather, Danny begins to see a purpose for his life which leads Danny to becoming a Navy SEAL. Before heading back to California to do so though, he has a one night stand with Luci Tohe, a teacher on the reservation who basically raises her younger sister and cares for their alcoholic mother.
Danny's world is turned upside down when a year later he comes to visit his cousin at the reservation and finds Luci with a baby. As Danny's world is turned on it's axis, he tries to balance life as a SEAL and figuring out what happens next for him and Luci.
When young women go missing, it's up to Danny to help the FBI find out who is responsible, especially with the life of Luci's missing sister on the line.
WHAT I LOVED: The action, danger, suspense, romance, and passion. I especially liked that the main character was a Native American SEAL. I loved seeing the difference between Danny when the book first begins to the Danny as the book ends. He grew up and became this Alpha-protector who accepted his Native American heritage for what it is and what it means to him.
MY ONLY DISLIKE: I wish that the SEAL team would have been more involved with this book. Sadly, it lacked the involvement that the previous books have had.
