“Here’s
what’s going to happen. You’re going to turn around and go up
those stairs. Once you’re out of here, you’re going to forget you
ever met me and pretend that there’s nothing Victoria Green can
tell you that you don’t already know.”
A
deep anger settled in her gut at the idea of this virtual stranger
telling her what to do. “And if I don’t?”
Jace
leaned in, until his face was inches from hers. “Well, for
starters, I will throw you over my damn shoulder and carry you out of
here until you’re far enough away I’m sure you’ll leave me
alone. Think I’m bluffing?”
For
a long moment, Emma debated the merits of slapping Jace right in his
smug face. Screw slapping—punching would be much more effective.
“What’s
it gonna be, Georgia? Are you walking out on your own or do you need
assistance?”
Emma
shook her head. Jace wasn’t worth the bruised knuckles. “I’d
rather avoid being touched by a Neanderthal, thank you very much,”
she said in her sweetest voice, laying her natural accent on a bit
thicker than normal.
If
he wanted to get rid of her, fine. She’d leave gracefully. Her
anger simmered just beneath the surface as she walked up the stairs.
Let him win the battle. But she sure as hell wasn’t going to give
up and when all was said and done, she’d win the war.

Every time I think I think I have a favorite picked out of this series, Mallory Crowe goes ahead and proves me wrong!
Emma Devaroux is Joslyn's (featured in book three, Tempting the Boss) sister. After Joslyn is arrested, Emma comes to town looking to help her sister and find out the truth about what really happened. New to town and unemployed, Emma has no idea where to begin so she asks Jace Lance for help.
Of course Jace thinks she's looney tunes, because why would she ask the man who put her sister behind bars to help; but there's something about Emma's sweet southern girl personality that sets his gears a turning so he helps her with her investigation to uncover the truth. As they beginning to uncover the truth, danger is lurking at every turn.
I hate to play favorites, but when I read Tempting the Boss, it stuck with me, but now that I have read Trusting the Boss, I can surely say this book is my favorite of them all. Not only is this book my favorite, this couple is. I loved their relationship and the suspense of not knowing what they would uncover next. Plus with all that danger lurking by, Jace had to stay by Emma's side.
Not only that, there is betrayal on the horizon when Emma finds out that Jace is working for other family members of hers.
From the very first page to the last, Crowe takes her readers on a thrill ride with suspense, danger, intrigue and adventure. I loved every last minute of this book. The plot is gripping and had me NEEDING to know what happens next, who is behind it all and why. Once I began reading, I couldn't stop. I read this book in one sitting and wanted more. I love how a character from a previous book is featured in the next and how they are all different and have their own stories to tell - good ones at that.
Crowe is an amazingly talented author who I will be keeping my eye on. I'll be anxiously awaiting to see what she delivers to readers next.

MY REVIEW
April Morgan has worked for Sam for six years at HuntsCorp and has developed a crush on him in that time. When he comes back to Paris with a new girlfriend, the girl demands that April be fired and Sam agrees to move her. April overhears and decides to leave on her own merits which sends her free falling through the rabbit hole so to say. A job with Sam's father with Hunter Enterprises seems like the best job for her, but April soon comes to realize things are not always as they appear to be.
Will Sam fight for April now that he realizes his feelings? And will April come to see that she's a pawn in a game between father and son?
Sam and April have great chemistry and she's his right hand man. Their relationship reminds me of Donna and Harvey from Suits. They have a certain give and take to their relationship, but it is benefits the both of them until Sam has to choose between April and his girlfriend of only a few weeks.
Crowe surprised me a few times within the book. First I did not see what happened five years ago coming! Secondly, out of all those who could be Sam's father's spy, I was actually expecting it to be Sam's girlfriend. That was a bit of a twist.
I really enjoyed both characters, their personalities, and their relationship. Teaching the Boss is wonderfully written and Mallory Crowe shows a lot of promising talent. I look forward to seeing where this series progresses from here with Simon's story. I have to be honest though, I thought perhaps Annabelle's story may be next. I wouldn't have expected it to be Simon's with the way he only appeared a few times, but I can tell he has a story to tell.

Grace Bell has somehow found herself in the midst of a political scandal with a senator, but not all is as it seems. The tabloids has twisted the story of what really happened in that elevator with that senator and now the senator is even fueling the fire and making things seem more scandalous. Desperate, Grace finds herself seeking out Simon in order to save her business from the scandal.
Initially turning Grace down, Simon rethinks that when he finds out she has a past tie to Mark Duford. As Simon and Grace join forces as a pretend couple in order to save Grace's reputation and for Simon to get closer to Mark, the tension between them becomes prominent and emotions start to become involved.
I must admit, I wasn't expecting to enjoy this book as much as I did. Simon came off too brash and pushy for my liking in his few appearances in Teaching the Boss. I can't even begin to say how glad I am that I stuck with this series. Simon has a story to tell and it's a good one. There is a reason for everything he does in order to try and apprehend Duford. My favorite thing about Simon though? The red hair ;)
Grace is caring and kind. I thought she was a sweetheart. The chemistry between her and Simon is definitely there but she spends most of her time pushing him away when he gets too close. Strong and beautiful with a confidence to her that makes men turn their heads, Grace is Simon's perfect match.
Teasing the Boss is more face paced than the first book, Teaching the Boss, and has suspense and action. Once you start reading, you will not want to stop until the last page. I loved the plot and seeing how everything wraps up in the end. I really enjoyed this book and I even ended up loving Simon!

MY REVIEW
Victoria Green and Dean Carey are both previously introduced characters from Teasing the Boss. Victoria is a successful CEO of a billion dollar hardware company whereas Dean is a handyman who has raised his sister since their parent's deaths years prior. These two are total opposites in almost every way including social status and circles and yet there is something that draws each other together. What they have in common is tragedy. As Dean raises his younger sister, Victoria's father is gravely ill.
As the stress from her father's illness amounts, at a party planned by Grace Bell, from Teasing the Boss, Victoria is attacked by an unknown assailant. Dean saves Victoria and ends up being her bodyguard of sorts. On a trip out of town, another attempt is made at attacking Victoria and Dean begins to suspect that the person behind the attacks is someone close to Victoria.
As Dean begins to fall in love, an expiration date looms over their sexual relationship.
Mallory Crowe has kicked up the heat in Tempting the Boss. More suspense, more intrigue, and more sex. The scenes are the steamiest they've ever been and this couple is on fire. HOT HOT HOT is all I can say. The plot is great and a lot different from the previous two books which is always refreshing. Crowe's writing improves within every book and showcases her talent.
The characters are well written and each have their own unique personality. No two characters alike in this series! And this plot was so great. I loved the suspense of wondering who was behind the attacks.
This may just be my favorite book of the series, but I hate to pick favorites since they are all so good!
