Ava Webber went through her own personal hell when it came to ex-husband. Free from him, Ava is reinventing herself into the person she wants to be and crossing boundaries she never thought she would. Her need for exploring the BDSM scene takes her to Serve, a BDSM nightclub.
Nolan Hart is protective over all his clients after something went wrong in the past. With a woman as open as Ava is to trying new things, Nolan knows that the only person he can trust not to take advantage of Ava is himself. By putting himself in the position to be both her friend and her lover, Nolan also places himself in an awkward position because he starts to develop feelings for her while a) keeping dual identities and b) knowing that she wouldn't return his feelings.
What happens when Ava realizes that her mystery man isn't such a mystery after all?
Rules of Seduction is the 7th book in the Serve series, but the first one written by Joya Ryan. Joya seamlessly blends into the Serve series beside Tessa Bailey and Katee Robert. Rules of Seduction is sexy & steamy and features BDSM scenes. This book can be read as a stand alone, but features characters from previous books.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading Rules of Seduction and liked the plot and the element of mystery behind the blindfold. Ava's clashing feelings for each man and how she feels torn between a man she doesn't know, but has passion with, and a man that she can laugh and be free with, really sell the story.
I honestly felt for Ava and the things that she had experienced in her past. I also rooted for Nolan to break down those barriers blocking her heart. From the moment they met, I thought they would be a good match but I would've never guessed the passion and chemistry they would have.
I really enjoyed both Ava and Nolan's characters and their story. There was a hint of something there that was referenced a few times involving Nolan's past and a girl that had gotten hurt during a scene which I wished the author would of expanded on a bit more since it was mentioned a few times, but other than that Ryan's writing is flawless and erotic.
