MY SOUL TO WAKE is such a wonderful book. As someone fascinated with history, the Salem witch trials always drew me to that event in time. My Soul To Wake captures the panic and hysteria of the 1800's during the witch trials.
Leah, on a get away with friends, meets Will and is instantly attracted to him. As someone who has had night terrors all her life, Leah avoids relationships, but something about Will draws her to him. The only problem? His friend, Liza. Liza tries to scare Leah away anyway that she can so that truth of Leah and Will's true relationship never comes to light. Leah has to contend with the jealousy of Liza who tries to get her to turn on Will and Will's own story that Leah was once his wife long ago.
Can Will's story be true? Is Leah Will's wife reincarnated? The twists and turns in My Soul To Wake are some that you never see coming (which in my opinion are the best ones of all). Tara Oake's characters are so realistic and mysterious with their past lives and future. I cannot wait to see what happens next between Will and Leah and what will happen with Liza.
My Soul To Wake's plot is so intriguing with the themes of witchcraft, reincarnation, and true love. Tara Oakes has never written a book such as this before. Oake's previous works include The Kingsmen MC series and the Chianti Kisses series, both of which are so different from My Soul To Wake, but just showcases how talented Tara Oakes is and the way that she can cross into genres so seamlessly.
I am looking forward to seeing the continuation of this series and what Oakes has up her sleeve next.
