Shadows of Whitestone Manor is the second installment in The Winters Family series and is honestly better than the first book! Brittany Jo James   once again shows her talent with Grayson's story. 

First introduced in Secrets of Whitestone Manor, Grayson's character intrigued me and I wanted to know more about him. I was glad when I saw that the next book would be his. 

Shadows of Whitestone Manor picks up just a few months after Orson's book ends. While Grayson is the main character in this book (the book is from his point of view) the rest of the cast from the first book is back including all of Grayson's siblings. 

The Whitestone Manor and it's daily life is captured from Grayson's view and we get some great insight into the mind of Grayson.. Including his love interest, Ava. Grayson has always been in love with Ava from as far back as he can remember, but does not want to involve her into the danger of his life. Plus, there are rules to the life he lives. His destiny is to fight for the innocents that know nothing about this fight for humanity, but Ava calls to him. The problem is somehow Ava's parents are mixed in with the destruction of the Winters family. The romance between Grayson

More suspenseful than the first book, Shadows of Whitestone Manor would not allow me to put the book down. Grayson, the Winters siblings, and the suspense and intrigue pulled me in to the book and kept me there. This book literally left me with a book hangover. 

Brittany Jo James has come a long way since the first book which makes me excited to see what she has in store for the rest of this series.

Secrets of Whitestone Manor

(Book One of The Winters Family)

Secrets of Whitestone Manor is the story of Orson Winters and his family. After the death of Orson's parents, him and his siblings are sent to live with an uncle they had never heard of which is just one of many family secrets this family has. Orson, along with his siblings, Grayson, Ellison, and Pierson, are destined to fight the Sons of Serpents and defend the innocents from the shadows.

Wow, okay, let me gush here... I LOVED this book and everything that went in to it. The cover gives off this gothic, sinister vibe that immediately caught my eye. Without even reading the blurb yet, I was already utterly intrigued. After reading the blurb, I knew this was a must read and I was right.

Shadows of Whitestone Manor is a page-turner with said pages full of drama, the paranormal, romance, and of course action. I loved the family dynamic between the four siblings and how close they are to one another. I also love how Orson watches over the three younger siblings. 

The plot is so intriguing. You will not want  to put this book down once you begin reading. It draws you in with it's secrets and mysteries and leaves you hanging on to your seats.

The characters each had their own personalities and differences from their siblings which makes you like each of them for their unique personalities. Orson was quiet and reserved at times, but definitely fit into the protector role. The Winter siblings are all likable characters. Grayson is strong, silent, and rough around the edges, but his character speaks to you and has you wanting more. Pierson is another interesting character and the complete opposite from his older siblings - in a good way though. Ellison is a badass girl with a flair for the dramatics. And Orson's love interest, Lillith, is sassy and strong - two traits I love in a female lead.

Brittany Jo James writing style is flawless and her talent shines through her writing. This series shows a lot of promise and I can't wait to read the stories of the other siblings.
