MY REVIEW: Logan's Story
★★★★★
Logan's story is the prequel to Sand and Clay which gives the background for Logan - his roots and who he was before fame.
I read Logan's Story first since it is a prequel and I wanted the background on him. I was actually pretty glad I read it in this order since it helped me to understand a few things that were said in Sand and Clay that I wouldn't have understood otherwise.
I loved Logan - his relationship with his parents, his friends, and the good man he seemed to be. I rooted for him to follow his dream and make it a reality. When it came to Logan's mother I wanted to wrap him up in a big hug for being such an amazing son.
Everything from Logan's job to his lifestyle and finally signing a recording contract was all done out of love for his mother and wanting to help to take care of her. From such a young age Logan had to be pretty responsible and instead of resenting that he wanted to take care of his mother because of how much he loved her. In this book you get to see what a great guy he is and all that he has been through.

All in all I loved Logan's Story.
MY REVIEW: Sand and Clay
★★★★
Sand and Clay takes place two years after the end of Logan's Story. Logan is a famous musician who appears on the covers of magazines and has fans who adore him but at the same time he is lost and doesn't even seem to realize it.
That is until he meets Caroline.
Caroline turns his life on it's axis. She makes him long for more. And yet as much as he loves her, he can't find the willpower to walk away from the person he owes everything to.
I loved Sand and Clay and the roll coaster Sarah Robinson takes the reader on with the ups and downs of Logan and Caroline. The emotions the book invokes: romance, sadness, frustration keeps you reading to the end needing to know what happens to them.
As much as I do love Sand and Clay, since I read Logan's Story first I got a first hand account of life before stardom and his family and friends so I wish Logan's parents would have been mentioned since they played such a big role in the beginning. I also missed the encouragement of his band of friends.
As for Gina, in her own way I truly believe she did love Logan but she loved her career and the money more than any romance she could have.
In the end Caroline truly was Logan's perfect match - for all the differences and similarities - and their chemistry was noticeable from the very beginning despite their rocky first meeting.
Once again Sarah's characters came off the pages of the book and to life. Their descriptions so real it was as if they were. Sarah invests so much of herself into her books and in turn readers invest so much of themselves into reading the book and getting to know the characters along with their thoughts and feelings.
