Synopsis: One of the hardest things I have ever had to do was bury my wife.
The second hardest thing would be watching my twelve-year-old daughter fall to her knees as they lowered her mother into the ground to rest.
A heart-wrenching vision that will forever be etched in my mind.
Claire was my best friend—she had been since we were barely old enough to talk. I always knew, one day, I would marry her. I think I may have even told her that a few times while we were growing up.
Never did I think I would lose her so suddenly.
I knew at that moment…
Our life would never be the same again…
My Review
Ryan Sawyer was left devastated after the unexpected loss of his wife during surgery. Three years later, Ryan and his daughter, Olivia, are still having a hard time adjusting to life without her. At fifteen Olivia is beginning to act out in fits of teenage rebellion and needs a mother figure in her life. While Olivia acts out, Ryan's world begins to shift when Amber unexpectedly walks into his life.
Amber is a woman looking for a new start in life after being cheated on by her fiance of four years. Her grandmother has left her a bakery so she has moved to Livingston in order to take it over. When Amber and Ryan meet there is an immediate connection but with so many obstacles standing in the way can Ryan handle a second chance at love?
A second chance romance, Ryan's love is sweet, genuine, and will bring you to tears. Harms' writing style never fails to take me on an emotional journey and Ryan's Love does not disappoint. I felt every emotion as if it was happening to me in real life. I needed a box of tissues and wine to get through this book, but I loved every moment of it. The characters are so easy to love, even the secondary ones, and I found myself rooting for Ryan and Amber, feeling for Olivia, and absolutely loving Ryan with all of me.
My only complaint was that I honestly wish this book was longer. I loved it THAT much!
5 STARS!
