SYNOPSIS: Alexa Morgan lost her mother when she was two. At eighteen, her father and stepmother died when a devastating earthquake hit the Bay Area. Only one person has remained a constant in her life: Devin.

Devin has been Alexa’s best friend since childhood. The two are inseparable—or they were until Devin declared his love for her at sixteen. When Alexa can offer him only friendship in return, Devin retreats, brokenhearted.

Alexa, on the other hand, longs for Ethan, the boy next door. Four years older than her, and with an ever-changing roster of girlfriends, Ethan is everything Devin isn’t: wild, sensual, and unpredictable.

In the aftermath of the deadly earthquake, Ethan makes his move on Alexa, who reciprocates in a confused whirl of grief and desire. When Ethan leaves town the next day, Devin comes back into Alexa’s life, offering support and expecting nothing in return.

Alexa begins to see the advantages of Devin’s quiet, stable love. Can she get past the friendship hang-up while trying to forget bad boy Ethan? It’s a choice that will change her life forever.

♥ MY REVIEW

ALEXA CRUSHED is the story of Alexa Morgan, a girl drowning in grief after the deaths of her parents. Left on her own, the only person that Alexa can depend on is her one constant, Devin. Devin is Alexa best friend and they have been joined at the hip since they were little. When Devin confesses his love for Alexa though, things take an awkward turn for both Alexa and Devin as she pines for the boy next door, bad boy Ethan.

Ethan is your typical bad boy with notches on his bed posts, unpredictable behavior and no regard for boundaries and rules. Although four years older than her, Alexa has been drawn to Ethan since the moment that she met him. When a disaster suddenly strikes, Ethan is the one who is there to comfort Alexa and they spend a night together before Ethan mysteriously leaves with only a one-worded note left behind.

As Alexa continues to sink into her grief, the only person there for her is the one boy whose feelings she hurt when she couldn't see past her infatuation with Ethan. Devin becomes Alexa's rock and as he helps her to heal and see light within her life, Alexa finds herself looking at Devin differently.

But with her thoughts still on Ethan and friendship still rooted in her mind, Alexa has to figure out what she wants and WHO she wants. Will she give Devin a chance to be everything she could ever want?

ALEXA CRUSHED is an easy, light read. I finished this within a few hours and moved directly on to Alexa Loved, the second book in the series, needing to know what would happen next and who Alexa would choose. Cupak's characters grab a hold of you and work their way into your reader's heart, only to stay with you long after the last page has been turned. I went back and forth so many times between who I thought Alexa should be with and which guy I rooted for most.

Cupak throws in some twists, but in a quiet, subtle way that makes you guess over certain things, but makes it more appealing.

Alexa Crushed is beautifully written and for a debut novel, Cupak seems to hit her stride early on. The emotions that this book call for are portrayed within the pages, the characters are brilliantly described in a way that you feel as if you know them and everything comes together magically.

Synopsis: After her parents died during her senior year of high school, Alexa Morgan is completely alone in the world—except for her best-friend-turned-boyfriend Devin, identical twins Becca and Jessa, and Sebastian, a mysterious associate of her father’s.

Upon graduation, Alexa wants nothing more than to move on with her life, go to college, and forget all the hard and hurtful things from her tragic past. But when her first love, Ethan, shows up at her graduation—it kicks off a whirlwind of events that threatens the good and stable things she’s worked so hard to achieve.

Ethan and Alexa shared one night of passion before he disappeared, leaving her bewildered and confused. But now he’s back, declaring that he loves her and that the only reason he left was to protect her from his malicious stepmother, Olivia.

In her heart, Alexa knows she loves Devin, but her attraction to Ethan is so strong she can’t help but be drawn in by their shared chemistry. Meanwhile, the threat of Olivia lurks around the edges, casting a menacing shadow over everything and everyone Alexa loves.

                                                              ♥ MY REVIEW
ALEXA LOVED is the second book in the Alexa series and once again centers around Alexa and the triangle that is Alexa, Devin, and Ethan.

Alexa and Devin have grown into their relationship and Alexa has the stability that she has needed, but at the same time Ethan is back and her attraction to him is still sizzling at a boiling point. With Ethan declaring his love for her and telling her the truth behind his reasons for leaving, Alexa is torn between both Devin, the guy who has healed her, and Ethan, the guy she has always dreamed about and longed for.

While trying to figure out what it is she needs and wants, Alexa is on guard with the threat of Olivia after her.

ALEXA LOVED is the perfect follow-up to Alexa Crushed. Once again this book is an easy read, but Cupak has managed to put such an interesting story line together within it. While I was unsure of Ethan given his behavior in the previous book, I was in love with him in this one and was torn on who Alexa should choose. Each man has their merits and they are both someone that any girl would be lucky to have.  This is why I don't typically read love triangles, because I am torn between who I want the lead to end up with.

Alas, even though I was torn between Ethan and Devin, the one person I can say with a surety that I could not stand was Olivia. She was cunning and malicious and I just really wanted to throttle her. While wanting to throttle Olivia, I found myself enjoying Alexa's strength even with all she had overcome to reach the point where she is at.

If you like hot men, strong female leads, and twists and turns with your books then Alexa Loved is for you. Cupak doesn't fail to disappoint in this second book and I look forward to seeing what she delivers readers next.
