OUAA synopsis

"Sugar, Jules and I had run for our lives. Only our shadows had followed us. And no matter how hard we tried, we couldn't outpace them."

All-around bad boy, and twenty-five-year-old heir to the Jameson fortune, Tommy Jameson, knows three things:

- His family is disappointed in him.
- Overcoming his addictions won't necessarily crush his vices.
- He is wildly in love with Sugar Scarborough, a girl who is dealing with her own addictions and an insatiable need to please.

Danger sends Tommy, Sugar and their friend, Julian Fitzpatrick, a heavily medicated, socially dysfunctional genius, fleeing from Green Willow Recovery Center.

Now, together, they will face the outside world and uncover a horrifying mystery while being forced to confront their inner demons

Tommy Jameson, a handsome twenty-five year old heir to the Jameson fortune with an addiction and an anger problem is spending his days behind the walls of Green Willow Recovery Center. While giving up his addictions that led him to be there in the first place, he picks up a new one. Only this addiction is a person: Sugar, the girl he is finding himself falling in love with.

Sugar, Julian and Tommy have become friends while in the recovery center and have learned to have one another's backs. When danger comes a calling, the three of them have to make a run for it. With the wind in their hair and Green Willow Recovery Center behind them what will become of these three seemingly misfits?

THAT TIME WITH SUGAR by Tess Oliver surpassed all my expectations for this book. The plot was something different from what I have read before. For starters the book begins in Green Willow Recovery Center. Secondly, I was expecting a typical boy falls for girl book. What I got was so much more. That Time with Sugar is juicy. Danger, mystery, intrigue and romance fill the pages of this book and draws readers in from the very first page. Did I expect where the mystery behind the danger left back in Green Willow would lead to? No. Did I love everything about this book? Yes.

The characters that fill these pages are real. They are flawed, they are not perfect, and yet each one makes you adore them for who they are - quirks and all. Tommy, a guy with anger problems and an addiction, is actually a sweetheart who you find yourself swooning over. Sugar is a girl who wants to be loved but shows it in the wrong ways. Together Tommy and Sugar are a couple that bring out the best in one another. From the very first pages you can see the connection between the two of them.
And of course there's Julian. Julian with all his quirks and hang-ups is a character who you cannot help but love.

With an amazing plot, fantastic characters, and great writing, Tess Oliver once again has written a book that will have everyone talking. That Time with Sugar is another great read from a very talented author.
