She’s his heaven and his hell...

Muriel Stewart has spent the past year grieving the loss of her husband.  Now that time has passed, her inner submissive demands Muriel find a new relationship to fulfill her need to love and serve. But there’s only one man who makes Muriel yearn for the intimate Dom/submissive connection the way her husband did, and that’s his best friend, Mathew Galindo ... a man who can barely tolerate her presence.

Matthew Galindo buried his own heart and needs the day Muriel Stewart married his best friend and business partner. He’s spent the last eleven years keeping Muriel at a distance, tortured by his love for a woman he could never have, and filled with shame for coveting what wasn’t and would never be his. Not even his best friend’s unexpected death could change that fact. Until Muriel decides she’s ready for a new Dom and wants Matthew to fill that role.

Having Muriel in his life is all Mathew has ever wanted. She’s his heaven and his hell, and could be his salvation if he can get beyond his past, his shame, and the guilt he feels for not having saved Ian’s life.

My Review

Muriel Stewart is a woman who knows what it is to have loved and lost. Deeply devoted to her husband, Ian, Muriel loses him a year prior to where Coveted starts when he unexpectedly passes away. Muriel is left to grieve until Ian's best friends step in to help Muriel.

Matthew Galinda and Lucas Steele weren't just Ian's business partners. Matthew, Lucas, and Ian came together to create a BDSM world of their own: Pandora's Playground, a club where club goers could experience BDSM in a safe environment. A year after Ian's death, Lucas encourages Muriel to return to Pandora's Playground in hopes that she can finally start to move on and live again.

When a scene between Muriel and Matthew becomes more will they give into what is between them or will the guilt overcome anything else?

Coveted is captivating, mind-blowing, sensual, and oh so steamy. I love Alannah Lynne's Heat Wave series and knew from her previous works she could heat things up, but in Coveted she really raised the bar, turned up the heat and even made me blush like a school girl -- which of course made me love Coveted even more.

Lynne's writing style is easy and flows effortlessly from page to page and her characters are those that you can genuinely like, relate to, and feel for. I enjoyed watching Muriel move on with her life while also cherishing the life she had with Ian, but knowing that it was time to live once more and that it is what Ian would have wanted from her.

Coveted is another great book from Alannah Lynne and I'm looking forward to seeing where the Pandora's Playground will go. While I really liked both Muriel and Matthew, I want to see more from Lucas also.
