Safe at Home
Warm Springs Trilogy #1
By- Christina Kirby
Genre- Romantic Suspense
Driven by fear and desperate to protect her family, Samantha is forced to leave Chicago and everything she’s worked to achieve, only to start over by tossing a dart-at-the-map. The Georgia townsfolk’s true Southern charm is the unexpected prescription needed to heal her soul, and the sexy carpenter who touches her heart are distractions she didn’t plan on, but they might offer her a chance at a new life, if she can let go of her past.
Town heartbreaker, Spencer Malloy, isn’t looking for anything serious. His days are perfect working as a contractor, attending his nephew’s baseball games or taking him fishing. He never expects to fall for the big city girl, Samantha. She’s not his type, timid and closed off, but in her unguarded moments, he’s intrigued by the woman he can’t get out of his mind. The urge to get closer to her grows stronger each day, and when the shadow of evil resurfaces, he vows to protect Samantha, even if it means abandoning his home and joining her on the run.
When confronted by the man who’s bent on revenge, Samantha must choose between running again to save the people she loves, or if she has the strength, to stay and fight for her new life.
My Review
Safe at Home is the story of Samantha, a woman who faces a terrible tragedy and decides to leave Chicago. She finds herself in Warm Springs, a small town with a tight knit community. Safe and protected within this small town, she captures the attention of the town heartbreaker, Spencer.
Spencer is intrigued by Samantha, who is the exact opposite of the type of woman he usually goes for. Imagine his surprise when he starts falling for her. As the two grow closer, danger lurks.
As Samantha's past catches up to her she has a decision to make: run as fast as she can or stay and fight for the people she loves and the town she has grown to adore.
Safe at Home is intriguing, suspenseful, and very well-written. Admittedly, I have never heard of this author before, but now that I have, I can not wait to read more from Kirby.
The town of Warm Springs come alive among the pages and Kirby's characters, Spencer and Samantha, are unique and likable along with being very well-defined. I enjoyed Kirby's writing style and her way with words. Safe at Home had me captivated and I just couldn't put this book down no matter what I had to get done.
The connection between Spencer and Samantha is incredible and from the moment they met, I rooted for this couple. I really enjoyed this read and how gripping a tale it is.

What he and Jenny once shared was real, but she’s moved on. With the new man in her life, time isn’t on Adam’s side.
My Review
Running Home is book two in the Warm Springs trilogy and is the story of Jenny, a previously introduced character from book one. Jenny is a real estate agent and friend of Samantha's and in the first book Jenny was the victim of a kidnapping. Running Home takes place a few months after Jenny's horrifying ordeal and Jenny is trying to move on with her life. As Jenny feels safe, protected, and secure once more in her life, the opportunity to work with a new - and wealthy - client comes her way. Jenny jumps at the chance and it leads her to Adam Hamilton, the man who was her first love.
Now a professional baseball player, Adam is retiring from the game after an injury and coming home to Warm Springs. When he sees Jenny again, his heart races for a second chance with her, but Jenny already has a boyfriend.
Who will Jenny choose?
Once again Kirby has welcomed readers home to Warm Springs. As you read this book, you feel as if you are a part of the town - or at least I did. Once again Kirby's writing style has amazed me and I have fallen in love with her characters. Jenny is so strong after what she went through and I rooted for her this entire book. Adam also had a special place in my heart, as do all of Kirby's characters.
Running Home is wonderfully written and a great summer read. With interesting plot twists, readers must learn to expect the unexpected with this author! The characters are realistic and genuine and the plot is amazing and fun.
Once again I really enjoyed this second book in the Warm Springs trilogy.
